With a degree in the medical field, Olivia’s career took an unexpected turn in 2017 when she joined Marksmen for a temporary role. The collaborative environment and daily challenges sparked a passion for construction, transforming what began as a short-term opportunity into a fulfilling career. She thrives on problem-solving and working alongside talented coworkers and industry partners, likening her role to being a detective with hard hats and contracts. A memorable project for Olivia was the North East ISD Community Education Center, where she gained hands-on experience and insight into every phase of construction. This experience deepened her appreciation for the teamwork and collaboration required to deliver exceptional results.
Emanuel’s path into construction started early. Growing up around the industry and working as a drywall laborer gave him a firsthand understanding of the work before he ever stepped into a classroom. That experience is what led him to return to school and pursue a degree in Construction Science and Management at UTSA, building on what he had already learned in the field. Even though he is still new at Marksmen, the culture has already made a strong impression. He appreciates how everyone gets along and how connected the team feels. It is the kind of environment where people know each other and take the time to build relationships, which has made it feel welcoming from the start.

Marksmen General Contractors offers a paid internship program for high school and college students interested in a career in commercial construction. Our internships take an all-encompassing approach that lets you gain experience in all aspects of commercial construction from estimating to supervision to project management and even business development.
