Mark’s natural inclination for working with his hands and a love for tangible tasks inspired his career in construction. He thrives on the quality of people and the unity within the Marksmen team. One of his most memorable projects was the six-year-long Roosevelt High School Complete Rebuild, which helped him grow the most in financial, schedule, project management, and people management skills. Mark advises those starting out in construction to remember that experience and wisdom cannot be rushed. It's a demanding job that requires commitment and an understanding that soft skills develop over time. He believes the work is incredibly rewarding, providing tangible affirmations and pride in accomplishments. For him, staying focused during challenging projects comes down to problem-solving, communication, and innate diligence and resilience. Mark stresses that knowing yourself is essential for success in this industry and values the collaboration and teamwork that help maintain focus.

With a degree in the medical field, Olivia’s career took an unexpected turn in 2017 when she joined Marksmen for a temporary role. The collaborative environment and daily challenges sparked a passion for construction, transforming what began as a short-term opportunity into a fulfilling career. She thrives on problem-solving and working alongside talented coworkers and industry partners, likening her role to being a detective with hard hats and contracts. A memorable project for Olivia was the North East ISD Community Education Center, where she gained hands-on experience and insight into every phase of construction. This experience deepened her appreciation for the teamwork and collaboration required to deliver exceptional results.

Mandy’s interest in construction grew not only through her personal connection to the business as Mark’s wife but also through her involvement in business development, marketing, and now, employee development. She’s proud to support this dynamic workforce that requires tactical talent and a dedication to the details and risks involved in building structures. Her favorite part of the job is collaborating with others—whether it’s brainstorming new ideas with the marketing team or solving challenges with leadership. She enjoys being part of a team where different perspectives come together to innovate and find effective solutions.
