Job Description
  • Reports to Sr. Project Manager or Project Executive
  • Supervise projects through every aspect of construction
  • Provide oversight for safety, inspections, and weekly logs

Project Manager

Job Description
  • Reports to Sr. Project Manager, Project Executive, Director of Operations or VP of Operations
  • Manage projects from buyout through final completion
  • Support the project Superintendent
  • Create, track, and utilize schedules in coordination with the Superintendent and Subcontractors
  • Manage Owner, Client, and A/E team relationships and communication
  • Review and approve payment requests for subcontractors and owners
  • Prepare and submit project close-out submittals and warranties

Estimator

San Antonio, Texas - Office

Job Description
  • Manage estimating calendar accountability of scope assignments to estimating team.
  • Manage bid metrics on bid day and prepare strategy in advance of bid day with Director of Pre-Construction Director and Director of Operations.
  • Establish and track department level quarterly Rocks/Goals in alignment with the corporate Strategic Plan.
  • Responsible for subcontractor relationship management and development.
  • Conduct Quarterly Conversations with direct reports and provide mentorship and management of all Estimator(s) and Assistant Estimator(s)
  • Track current pricing trends and historical data.
  • Provide conceptual estimating oversight and qualification development.
  • Create and manage bid packages and bid forms for subcontractor use to ensure accuracy and ease of bid leveling.
  • Oversee progress of schematic design, design development, and construction documents for accurate budgeting.
  • Finalize the Guaranteed Maximum Price with all supporting documentation, qualifications, subcontractor summaries, alternates, unit prices.
  • Perform cursory review of all project documents and specifications to ensure estimating team is aware of unique systems, potential risk, and subcontractor/supplier coverage.
  • Manage, provide oversight to, accountability, and mentoring of Assistant Estimator.
Required Skills
  • Working competency with public competitive sealed proposals, private negotiated estimates, job order contracting, construction manager at risk & design-build pre-construction services.
  • Ability to seamlessly prepare and provide sufficient coverage for comprehensive bid packages to include risk identification and mitigation, prevent “bid day surprises,” and ensure timely submission of all estimates.
  • Well-organized ability to manage various departmental duties including multiple estimates, calendars, strategic goals, and quarterly conversations.
  • Relationship driven individual with ability to develop and maintain multiple subcontractor and supplier relationships for different scopes, project sizes, markets, and regions.
  • Articulate and empathic communicator with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal team.
  • Team player who can speak with fortitude and tact to keep pre-construction services accountable and ensure client satisfaction.

Carpenter

San Antonio, Texas - Field
Job Description
  • Installs foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials
  • Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob, and laser levels
  • Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels
  • Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
  • Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws
  • Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment
  • Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools
  • Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue
  • Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools
  • Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures

Assistant Superintendent

San Antonio, Texas - Field
Job Description

Marksmen General Contractors is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our team. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent to manage construction sites and ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Superintendent in managing construction sites.
  • Supervise workers and ensure that they are working efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress and report to the Superintendent.
  • Ensure that all safety regulations are followed on site.
  • Identify and resolve any issues that arise during construction.
  • In charge of larger scopes of work assigned by Superintendent.

Skill Requirements
  •   College Degree or minimum 5 years of field experience is preferred
  •   Highly motivated, self starter, energetic
  •   Coachable
  •   Not averse to hot/cold weather, mud, dust, etc.
  •   Good at math
  •   Expect 40-50 hours of work per week
  •   In charge of larger scopes of work assigned by Superintendent
  •   Must have scheduling experience (MS Project, P6, or other)
  •   Expected to be intimately aware of schedule and expectations
  •   Should be able to perform tasks with no input from Superintendent unless specifically directed
  •   Should be able to cover the job when needed (weekdays and weekends w/notice)
  •   Must have effective written and oral communication skills
  •   Works well without close supervision
  •   Strong planning and organizational skills
  •   Must be able to read contract documents (plans, specifications, etc)
  •   Must be able to supervise and coordinate installation of work in accordance with the contract documents and project schedule
  •   Must be proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook
