What does it mean to be the right person? It means you embody our core values and live them daily. At Marksmen General Contractors, we hire and retain only those who align with these principles. You can find a brief overview of our core values below or explore them in more detail on the core values page linked above. Being the right person also means fully embracing and executing our core process: Plan with Precision, Communicate with Clarity, and Execute with Excellence.

At Marksmen General Contractors, every role is carefully defined by a few essential responsibilities, ensuring clarity and purpose. We seek individuals who not only understand these responsibilities but are passionate about fulfilling them and have the capacity to execute them with excellence. Finding the "right seat" means you get it, want it, and have what it takes to do it.

I never planned on a career in construction, but somehow, I ended up right where I was meant to be. I was originally accepted to Texas A&M for Construction Science before pivoting to a business degree, and now, in Marketing & Business Development at Marksmen GC, I see how both paths have shaped my approach. Success in this role isn’t about mastering just one thing—it’s about being a jack of all trades, adapting to new challenges, and finding creative solutions. Every pursuit, every proposal, and every project brings something different. Some of our best work has gone unnoticed, while others have been game-changers. But that’s the nature of the job—learning, refining, and pushing forward. What keeps me coming back day after day is the opportunity to chase new ideas, tell great stories, and be part of something bigger than just the next pursuit.

Gerald has always been drawn to architecture, building, and the ways the built environment shapes how we live and interact. At Marksmen GC, he appreciates the collaborative energy that kicks off each project and the consistent support from the team throughout construction. His advice to those starting out? Make sure construction is what you really want to do—and then learn beyond just your role. Understanding the full building life cycle, from design to development to construction, helps bridge the gap between architects, owners, and contractors. During challenging projects, Gerald stays focused by keeping the end user in mind, aiming not just to deliver a space—but a seamless experience from groundbreaking to ribbon cutting.

David’s early exposure to construction came from his father and uncles, who inspired his path into the industry. He thrives on the challenge of building and enjoys finding creative solutions that move projects forward. At Marksmen, the supportive culture and team-driven atmosphere stand out the most. David believes in staying humble and learning from everyone around him—no matter their role or experience. During demanding projects, he stays focused by sticking to the plan, setting small internal goals, visualizing success, and taking time to celebrate progress along the way.
