Michael transitioned into construction after finding his banking career “incredibly boring.” Seeking something more fulfilling, he made the leap and never looked back. His motivation, even during tough projects, comes from knowing he gets to come home to his family—a constant reminder of what truly matters.
With parents who were general contractors, David was introduced to construction early on and quickly developed a love for building. Over three decades later, that passion is still going strong. He believes staying humble is key—no matter how much experience you have, there’s always something new to learn. What keeps David focused during tough projects is a commitment to delivering the best possible product to the client. He takes pride in knowing his name is attached to each project and strives to make sure that name stands for quality.
Emilse was drawn to construction by the satisfaction of building something real, something that lasts for generations. Seeing projects come to life has only deepened her passion for the industry. Her first project at Marksmen GC, Stinson Middle School, was a trial by fire, but one that left a lasting impact. As an intern, she tackled challenges head-on and walked away with lessons that still shape her career today. Her advice to those just starting out? Be a sponge—soak up everything you can, because in this industry, the learning never stops.

Marksmen General Contractors offers a paid internship program for high school and college students interested in a career in commercial construction. Our internships take an all-encompassing approach that lets you gain experience in all aspects of commercial construction from estimating to supervision to project management and even business development.
