Joey was inspired to pursue a career in construction by the idea of playing a tangible role in shaping communities through building. His most memorable project was the historical renovation of the visitor center at HEB’s Corporate Headquarters, where he worked to restore a piece of the company’s history. When faced with challenging projects, Joey stays motivated by keeping the focus on delivering the finished product for the client and pushing through the difficulties to make it happen.

Growing up surrounded by construction, Bill found inspiration in the environment that shaped his early years. At Marksmen, he enjoys taking on leadership roles and ensuring the smooth process and successful completion of projects. One standout moment in his career was the St. Thomas project, where excellent management, skilled subcontractors, and strong budgeting all contributed to its success. Bill encourages those starting out in construction to stick with it and focus on becoming an asset, reminding them that construction can be a lucrative career for those willing to put in the effort. His drive comes from his commitment to providing for and protecting his family, knowing they rely on him completely.

Emilse was drawn to construction by the satisfaction of building something real, something that lasts for generations. Seeing projects come to life has only deepened her passion for the industry. Her first project at Marksmen GC, Stinson Middle School, was a trial by fire, but one that left a lasting impact. As an intern, she tackled challenges head-on and walked away with lessons that still shape her career today. Her advice to those just starting out?
