A Future to Grow Into
We champion a well-rounded approach to preparing for a career in construction. We believe it's best to combine hands-on experience with traditional classroom learning. Our internships and early career opportunities are designed to give students and recent graduates a solid understanding of the construction industry in the real world. As an intern, you will get to work on real projects, making real impacts in our community.
What does it mean to be the right person? It means you embody our core values and live them daily. At Marksmen General Contractors, we hire and retain only those who align with these principles. You can find a brief overview of our core values below or explore them in more detail on the core values page linked above. Being the right person also means fully embracing and executing our core process: Plan with Precision, Communicate with Clarity, and Execute with Excellence.

At Marksmen General Contractors, every role is carefully defined by a few essential responsibilities, ensuring clarity and purpose. We seek individuals who not only understand these responsibilities but are passionate about fulfilling them and have the capacity to execute them with excellence. Finding the "right seat" means you get it, want it, and have what it takes to do it.

Erika didn’t initially plan to enter the construction industry. While pursuing a Biomedical Sciences degree in college, she shifted to Marketing after learning about the AEC sector. With a master’s in marketing, she worked at an agency before transitioning to construction through networking. What she loves most about her job at Marksmen is the variety—one day she’s crafting proposals, the next she’s in the "arts and crafts room" assembling materials, and the next, she's on a jobsite, fascinated by the progress of the projects and the team’s work. Erika’s advice to anyone starting out in construction is to embrace the diversity of opportunities available and to not let the male-dominated nature of the field discourage them. The supportive and encouraging culture in the industry is one of its best features.

Josue’s passion for construction began at a young age, inspired by watching his sister build custom homes in partnership with a local architect. That early exposure—paired with his faith—laid the foundation for a purpose-driven career. At Marksmen, he thrives on collaboration, whether he’s coordinating a jobsite or connecting with students. His approach to work is deeply rooted in honoring God, and he encourages others entering the field to trust in the Lord, learn from their mistakes, and grow through every experience. For Josue, prayer and scripture provide the focus and peace needed to lead through challenges with clarity and grace.

Joey was inspired to pursue a career in construction by the idea of playing a tangible role in shaping communities through building. His most memorable project was the historical renovation of the visitor center at HEB’s Corporate Headquarters, where he worked to restore a piece of the company’s history. When faced with challenging projects, Joey stays motivated by keeping the focus on delivering the finished product for the client and pushing through the difficulties to make it happen.
