A new station to serve a growing community

Bexar County Emergency Services District 2 is one of just 74 ISO Class I Fire Departments in Texas. This rating is achieved by less than 1% of fire departments nationally. One of the major components in achieving this rating is the proximity to a fire station. The construction of the new Fire Station 123 is an integral step in maintaining this prestigious classification.

The District was established in 2003 on the rural far west side of San Antonio. In the subsequent 20 years, the district has experienced a boom of population growth. ESD 2 constructed three new fire stations in a five year span to support the growth and maintain its ISO Class I Classification.

The Marksmen GC team was selected for a second time by ESD 2 to build the 20,000 SF fire station on its new, 3.5 acre lot. Designed by the same architect as Station 121, BRW Architects, the design reflects the aesthetic of the area with four glass apparatus bay doors, living quarters, training room, conference room, bunk rooms, and offices. Our pre-construction team is currently working with the Owner and the Architect to identify potential Value Engineering solutions to bring the project within budget.
