The NEISD Sports Park not only houses the new state of the art baseball facility we constructed as part of Phase II but also has a highlight venue for all seven of the NEISD high schools with this third pool facility within the District. This Multiple Award Winning Project supports the district’s baseball, softball, and swimming programs as well as serving as venue for community events.

The existing four building structures were modified, added onto, demolished and tied together for a new coaching office with first aid station, new restroom facilities, new pool equipment and mechanical rooms and a venue lounge with kitchen area for parties. The existing pool perimeter was modified with new trench rain systems to fix existing drainage issues in the circulation areas. A new slab on grade concrete two-tiered deck area extension was added for competition teams to assemble during events under colorful shade structures installed on new pier footings. Along with all new pool equipment and pool liner, gas fired heaters and recirculation pumps were added to condition the temperature of the pool for year-round use. New structural steel gabled trusses were designed for the restroom facilities with translucent panels in the end gables for natural lighting. New locker rooms with shower facilities were created for teams to prepare on site for events. New landscaping with over 40 trees was added to create a tranquil environment for the sporting venue. This state-of-the-art-facility will house a 1,500- seat intimate radius stadium structure that envelopes the new synthetic turf baseball field with a large and contiguous structural steel covered canopy and brick façade that interfaces with the existing pressbox and restroom facilities.
During design, our firm worked hand-in-hand with the architect to balance the site due to a thirteen-foot elevation drop in the existing topography from the existing pressbox to the new outfield fence and batter’s eye. Retaining walls are constructed along with underground high capacity storm sewer drainage culverts to create a balanced site for a concentric sub-field drainage system with liner and perimeter dam walls for constant moisture stabilization under the field.
The new stadium seating area will be constructed with a slab on grade concrete structure with high-end stadium chairs, backstop netting, aesthetically attractive architectural design and new sports lighting for elite sporting event play for the community. This project will be a show piece for Marksmen GC and the San Antonio region.
