Cross Mountain Church Student Center scope includes the ground up construction of a new two story 31,000 sf youth building that ties into the existing 5,000 sf children’s building. An additional TDLR access ramp with entry doors to the existing children’s building allow for the new student center to be tied into the current entrance. New driveways are constructed at both main entrances to allow for center turn lanes for better ingress/egress, new additional parking and driveway extensions provide for better circulation and member growth capacity, covered porter caches and canopies are added to the West and East sanctuary entrances from the new parking areas, and existing utility services and infrastructure is adjusted to make way for the new facilities and provide tie ins for the new structure. The new youth building houses the high school, middle school and children’s ministries, all of their Sunday School classes, Youth Group gatherings, and each of their functions and activities throughout the week.
The building’s foundation is a slab on grade concrete structure and the building is a pre-engineered super structure enveloped with sloped glass curtainwall, metal panels on metal framing and insulated wall systems. The acoustical treatments of the space soften the modern feel of the exposed structure and polished concrete floors, while providing for a very intimate and welcoming space for the youth of the community.
